Board Goals

On 3/22/18, the Board approved a resolution to formally adopt the following Board Goals for 2018:

Motto:  Doing what is best for “Our Kids” everyday!

1.   Prepare “Our Kids” with the knowledge, values, and enthusiasm to succeed today and in the future.

2.  Heighten community public relations through constructive interactions.

3.  Before next school year create our Values - Behavioral - Outcomes

4.  Woodmore is committed to a safe educational environment for students, staff, and visitors of our buildings.

About our Board Meetings

The Board of Education meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the PreK-8 school building in Woodville, with the exception of March 22 and November 29, 2018.

Any future board or committee meeting dates and changes will be announced in the local media and found here on our web site.
The Buildings and Grounds/Transportation Committee Meetings will hold quarterly meetings during the year. Notices will be sent out to announce when a meeting will be held.  

The Community Relations Committee will also meet as needed throughout the year. Notices will be sent out to announce the meetings.

The  Curriculum/Instruction/Technology Committee will meet the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the conference room of the PreK-8 building in Woodville.

The Finance Committee will meet in the Central Office (349 Rice St.) in Elmore at 5:30 p.m. the 2nd Thursday in March, July, September, and December. 

The Policy Committee will meet as needed throughout the year. Notices will be sent out to announce the meetings. 
Every citizen is entitled to attend meetings, but only the Board Members (or committee members) may take part in deliberations. The public is encouraged to listen, observe and comment using the appropriate procedures and chain of command.

Executive Session

Ohio's Sunshine Law requires that all acts and deliberations of Boards of Education be conducted in public meetings. The exception is called executive session, where Board Members confer privately. No action of any kind can be taken during executive session.

Topics which may be discussed include: personnel matters, property purchase for public purposes, pending or imminent court action, negotiations with employees, matters to be kept confidential by federal or state statutes and specialized details of security arrangements.

Public Input

The Woodmore Board of Education wholeheartedly believes that public participation enhances our decisions and helps us connect with the residents of our community.  

If you wish to speak on an issue, you must raise your hand to be called on to speak.  If you speak out of turn, blurt out comments, or cause any disruptions to the Board process, you will be given a warning.  If you continue to be disruptive to the meeting, you will be asked to leave.  

We ask that any comments be kept brief and concise and related only to the issue being discussed.  We will not revisit items on the agenda that have passed discussion.  We will not require a time limit, but simply ask that you be considerate to the fact that we are trying to move the meeting along in a timely manner for the benefit of all in attendance
