The Woodmore Preschool program provides early learning for children ages three, four, and five. It is an all-day preschool offering a Monday/Wednesday class and a Tuesday/Thursday class. We are an integrated preschool program serving both children identified with special education needs and typically developing children. Our preschool is licensed by the Ohio Department of Education.
Philosophy: Woodmore Preschool supports the philosophy that all children are born ready to learn, relationships are influential, environment matters, and that communication is critical. We strive to facilitate your children in developing healthy personalities, self-direction, and inner control. We also believe in fostering student abilities to express their own ideas, complete tasks, and develop appropriate social behaviors. Through participation in the Woodmore Preschool Program students will experience cognitive, physical and social growth to reach their full potential and become successful citizens within the community, home, and school.
Curriculum: Our preschool bases its curriculum on The Creative Curriculum and the Ohio Early Learning Developmental Standards. The Creative Curriculum is research-based and primarily intended to guide teachers in using developmentally appropriate techniques to teach students. It is also a play-based curriculum and is adaptable to many different themes, ages, and developmental levels. The Ohio Early Learning Developmental Standards are guidelines which provide strategies for teachers to create developmentally appropriate lessons, activities, and assessments. This provides a rich, engaging environment to support the development and well-being of young learners preparing for kindergarten.
Transportation: Woodmore Preschool will provide free transportation for those students with special needs. Efforts will also be made to provide for transportation to typically developing children as determined by the school district.
Registration: We encourage parents to contact the school in the year prior to the start of preschool to place their child on the wait list. We will contact parents at the appropriate time to begin the registration process.
