Dan Becerra (Class of 1998 – Football, Wrestling)

  • in 1997, team was 8-3, 6-0 in the SLL to win the league title, first-team All-SLL (DT), first-team All-District (Div. VI, Lineman of the Year), first-team All-State

  • in 1996, team was 10-2, 6-0 in the SLL to win the league title, first-team All-SLL (DT), first-team Div. V all-district (Lineman of the Year), first-team All-State

  • in 1995, team was 11-1, 7-0 in the SLL to win the league title, first-team All-SLL (DT), first-team Div. V all-district, honorable mention All-State

  • in 1994, team was 9-2, 6-1 in the SLL to place second, lettered and started as a freshman

  • Is one of only two players in school history in football to earn first-team All-State honors twice

  • Earned a spot on the Toledo Blade all-area first team as a senior

  • Was the Defensive Player of the Year in the SLL as a senior

  • As a senior, had 112 tackles, 34 of those solo tackles, 24 tackle for loss, five sacks, 2 caused fumbles, and one fumble recovery

  • As a junior, had 101 tackles

  • Helped football team to state playoff berth all four years, including playoff wins in 1994 and 1996, the only two playoff wins in school history

  • Earned three letters in wrestling, setting a school record for pins in a season (33, 1997) which is the fourth-best total in school history

  • Played football at Kent State University for two years
