Rupa Narra

Class of 1996 – Softball, Basketball, Volleyball

  • Helped the softball team to two Suburban Lakes League (SLL) titles in 1994 and 1995

  • Helped the team to the Div. III district title and regional runner-up finish in 1994 and 1996

  • Still holds the school record with 47 singles in 1996

  • Was first-team All-SLL as a junior at first base and was named the Player of the Year in the conference

  • Was a second-team all-state selection by the Ohio High School Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association as a junior and senior

  • Was selected to play on the district all-star team as a junior and senior

  • Was first-team All-SLL in volleyball as a junior (1994-1995); second-team All-SLL in volleyball her senior year (1995-1996)

  • In basketball, she helped the Wildcats to the league title in 1994-95 and was a second-team All-SLL selection; she earned first-team all-league honors as a senior as Woodmore finished third in the league

  • Attended Ohio Northern University majoring in biology-pre-medicine for two years; she played on the softball team earning second-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) honors at second base as a freshman; earned first-team All-OAC honors at second base as a sophomore

  • Education: Ohio University, 2000, Biology/Pre-Medicine; Wright State School of Medicine, 2005; Pediatric Residency – University of Colorado/Children’s Hospital Colorado, 2008

  • Currently: Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician, Assistant Professor – New York University; Resides in Brooklyn, New York

  • Additionally: Has worked for the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer (2014-16) and did a Fellowship in Pediatric Point-of-Care Ultrasound at the Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital (2018-19)

  • Is already in the Woodmore Academic Boosters Hall of Fame (Distinguished Alumni Award)
