March 2 - Div. III District Meet (Rossford H.S.) - Woodmore had four wrestlers alive on the second day of the district meet looking for a state tournament berth. All four came into day two with a loss. Senior Jack Caldwell will be the state alternate at 175 pounds after finishing fifth. Caldwell beat Kaden Bish from Mohawk by pin and Benjamin Seitz from Monroeville by decision setting up the match to either wrestle for third-place (clinching a state berth - the top four in each weight class advance to the state tournament) or fifth-place. Caldwell lost that match to Kasen Wellman from Ayersville by decision before coming back to win the fifth place match over Trent Johnson from Patrick Henry by decision. Sophomore Landon Rich won his first match over Jack Stevens from Ashland Crestview by decision and he beat Daniel Thatcher from Delta to wrestle in the same match as Caldwell. Rich lost that match by pin to Braxton Quaintance from Lakota. He then lost the fifth-place match to Grady Gustweiller from Tinora by decision. Senior Brant Deal won his first match of the day at 150 pounds over Dominic Graziani from Tinora by decision before losing to Jordan Hertel from Carey by decision to fall out of the tournament. Freshman Wyatt Thieroff lost his first match of the day to Mason Hermes from Edison by pin to fall out of the tournament. The Wildcats finished 20th in the tournament with 27.5 points.
