The girls golf team defeated Margaretta, 198-220, in a dual match at Sugar Creek GC. Abbey Tucker shot 43, Olivia Sentle 51, Lexi Martin 51, Jordyn Dunn 53, Emerie Kinn 65, Lucy Fulweber 66.
Instead of a traditional "All About Me" project, 7th-grade creative writing students kicked off the year with a unique challenge: tell their life story in exactly six words. Inspired by Larry Smith’s global Six-Word Memoir Project, students brainstormed, distilled their thoughts down to six impact-filled words, and designed posters with matching imagery to bring their mini-memoirs to life. The high school volleyball teams lost matches at Lakota - the varsity lost, 25-13, 25-19, 25-14; the JV team lost, 25-9, 25-22.
The girls golf team finished second in a five-school SBC Shootout at Woussickett GC with a 196 team total. Abbey Tucker shot 48, Olivia Sentle 48, Jordyn Dunn 49, Lexi Martin 51, Emerie Kinn 67, and Lucy Fulweber 75.
The boys JV golf team lost a dual match at Liberty-Benton, 178-205. The match was played at Sycamore Springs GC in Findlay. TJ Cunningham shot 47, Joe Barr 48, Bowen Ish 52, John Schreck 58, Avery Reiser 58, and Liam Combs 59.
The boys soccer team lost a 2-0 decision at Evergreen. Jack Avers was credited with 13 saves in goal.
The girls soccer team posted a 3-0 win on the road at Sandusky Perkins. Taylor Hill, Bailey Meggitt, and Karli Heins each scored second-half goals. Hill had two assists and Emma Hahn had one. Abbie Schmeltz had five saves in goal.
The boys golf team finished sixth in an SBC Shootout at Sugar Creek GC shooting 171 as a team. Caden Hilt shot 40, Rylan Hecht 42, Keaston Mayo 44, Parker Boss 45, Chase Allen 45, and Connor Orcelletto 47.
The middle school volleyball teams swept matches at home with Lakota - the 7th grade won, 25-11, 25-15; the 8th grade won, 25-16, 25-23.
The high school cross country teams opened the season at the Goodman Night Race at Eastswood. The girls were 19th as Peyton Damschroder was 90th in 21:53.37. The boys were 18th as Marcus Schroder was 107th in 19:57.79.
The girls golf team finished 14th in the BlueStreak Invite at Ironwood GC hosted by Archbold. Abbey Tucker shot 95, Olivia Sentle 101, Jordyn Dunn 106, Lexi Martin 108, Emerie Kinn 133, and Cora Henn 144.
The Wildcat middle school cross country teams opened their season at the Tiger Invite hosted by Seneca East. The top female runner, Quincy Bauder, was 11th in 14:39.64. The top boys runner, Dominic Zakrzewski, was 25th in 13:20.25.
The JV football team scored late in the game to win at Lakota, 22-16. Avery Clouse had two scoring passes, one to Noah Huss and one to Logan Perkins. Clouse also had a rushing touchdown.
The boys soccer team was defeated by Riverdale, 6-0, at hoime. Jack Avers had 10 saves in goal.
The varsity football team posted a 49-6 win on the road at Toledo Christian. Lucas Caldwell rushed for 109 yards and two scores while Wesley Kayser caught six passes for 101 yards and two scores. Calvin Lipstraw was 9-of-16 passing for 161 yards and defense held TC to 114 yards.
