Last week the High School held a "Student Appreciation Week" to celebrate the end of testing. They had a popcorn party, teachers shared some kind words, an ice cream sundae bar and ended the week with duct taping Officer Psota to the wall. That sounds like an amazing week!

Three students stand at a table in the kitchen, smiling for a picture while scooping ice cream into small bowls.
A student is putting whipped cream onto a sundae while other students walk around behind him.
There is a table with blue and yellow tablecloths in the foreground of the picture with ice cream cups and sundae toppings on it. Students have made a line and are going through past the table making their own sundaes.
Office Psota is taped to a white wall in the gym with duct tape (his feet are standing on a chair). Two students and a teacher assist while Officer Psota has a silly grin on his face.
Students are gathered in the gym, sitting on the floor, waiting for Officer Psota to be duct taped to the wall.
A yellow bulletin board with black and white checked border. The words "Wildcats, you make us proud" is in blue letters across the top. The teachers all wrote encouraging words on colorful thought bubbles and attached them to the board.
Bags of popcorn wait on a table for students. You can see students eating lunch in the background.
Who needs store-bought when you have in-house talent? Huge thanks to Jacob and Gavin for creating this incredible, custom shelving unit for our main office space! They combined different wood types and added amazing personalized details—including "Wildcats" on one side and three WLS icons on the other. We appreciate you both!

Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer Program for Children (Summer EBT), also known as SUN Bucks, began in summer 2025 and provides grocery benefits to low-income families with school-aged children when schools are closed for the summer. Summer EBT benefits will either be loaded to a household’s Ohio Direction Card or a benefit card will be sent in the mail in a plain white envelope addressed to each eligible child.

Families will receive a one-time benefit of $120 for each eligible child and can use the money to buy food during the summer at grocery stores, farmers markets, and other authorized retailers.

All children between the ages of 6 to 18 participating in one or more of the following assistance programs (on or after July 1, 2025) will receive Summer EBT automatically with no need to apply:

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
Ohio Works First (OWF)
Medicaid (if income meets USDA Income Eligibility Guidelines for current program year)

Children of any age enrolled in a school participating in the National School Lunch Program that are approved for free or reduced-price meals for school year 2026-2027 will also receive Summer EBT automatically with no need to apply.

More information can be found on our website (with links to this and other programs!)
