Congratulations to senior soccer player Kelsey Kaylor who earned a spot on the Div. V all-state team after scoring 49 goals this season. Kaylor was also named the Northwest District Player of the Year. Camille Strong, Izzy Helmke, and Keira Travis also earned all-district honors.

Our Elementary and Middle School started their day honoring our Veterans. The fourth grade student council served, the elementary students decorated the tables, Mrs. Alexander's class used ASL to say the Pledge of Allegiance, three students sang the National Anthem while another student accompanied on the guitar, our seventh grade enrichment class performed a Reader's Theater, Mr. Kigar performed Taps, and everyone enjoyed donuts, cinnamon rolls, and fruit! Woodmore Elementary and Middle School students say THANK YOU to our Veterans!

Veterans Day is next week and to encourage students to honor and support our Veterans, we are holding a district-wide Spirit Week!
Monday 11/10: Wear purple to honor all branches.
Tuesday 11/11: Wear red, white, and blue - this is also the high school Veterans Day program, so high schoolers (only) should dress up for the occasion!
Wednesday 11/12: Wear camouflage to show support for active duty service members.
Thursday 11/13: Wear Armed Forces apparel.
Friday 11/14: Wear red to remember those who are deployed ("R.E.D." stands for "Remember Everyone Deployed")

The historic girls soccer season came to an end in the state semifinal at Edison H.S. losing a 1-0 decision to Doylestown Chippewa. Abbie Schmeltz made 12 saves in goal in an evenly played game. The lone goal came with 28:53 left in the first half. WHS finishes 20-2-1.

Kelsey Kaylor scored her second goal of the game with 10:21 left in the second overtime to propel Woodmore to a 3-2 win over Archbold in the Div. V regional semifinal in Norwalk. The Wildcats advance to the regional final Saturday in Tiffin against Mansfield Christian.

The football team has qualified for the OHSAA playoffs as the #11-seed and will play at #6-seed Seneca East on Friday at 7 p.m. Tickets, $12 for adults and $5 for students, can be purchased online on the OHSAA web site. Tickets can also be purchased at the game on Friday night.

It's time for Woodmore to honor its local Veterans!

This past weekend, both the Girls and Boys Middle School Cross Country teams were the SBC River Division Runner Ups! The girls team had a team score of 28 and was led by Grace Blausey, who had an 8th place finish running 14:13. Earning SBC honors was Audrey Smith and Evelyn Jess, who both placed top 15. The boys team had a score of 42 and was led by Joe Barr, who placed 4th overall with a new PR of 11:46. Other athletes that earned SBC honors were Cohen Broud and Cooper Hillkirk, who both placed in the top 15. Congratulations to both teams on all of their accomplishments this season!

Help us fill the Woodville and Elmore food pantries next week with Stuff the Bus at the PK-8 building by bringing in non-perishables, toilet paper, and paper towels! Elementary students can bring in goods to their classroom, and Middle School students can bring theirs to the Cafetorium every morning. Any community members wishing to donate can stop by the office before school starts. Both schools will be running a competition, too! The top donating classroom in the elementary school will receive a pizza party and the top donating middle school students (one per grade level) will receive a Subway lunch!

Our middle school is hosting a Halloween Dance for our 7th and 8th grade students on October 18th from 6-8PM for $5 per person! There will be a costume contest, pumpkin decorating contest (you'll need to bring your decorated pumpkin to the dance), musical chairs, and pizza, candy, and drinks available for purchase! We can't wait to see everyone dressed up!
