Bailey Jendrzejak, at 215, won his first match today in the Div. III state wrestling meet by pin and he will wrestle again tomorrow morning. Landon Rich, at 175, lost his first match by tech fall today and will wrestle again in about an hour to stay alive in the tournament.

The Little Mermaid had their opening night last night - but first, they did a preview performance for the elementary and middle school during the day! The students loved it and we've heard nothing but great reviews from opening night! Be sure to grab tickets to one of their remaining shows! Tickets can be purchased by contacting Connie Davis or at the door!

Our Woodmore High School Band has qualified for STATE!

The HS Band earned an overall rating of Superior at the OMEA District 2 Large Group Adjudicated Event hosted at Oak Harbor HS on Saturday, March 7. State will be on May 1st or 2nd. Date and time to be announced. Congratulations, Band!!

The Woodmore girls wrestling team finished 14th with 43 points in the Northwest District tournament. Tinley Thieroff won the 105-pound weight class with a 4-0 record to earn a district title and a trip to the state tournament. She is the first girls wrestling state qualifier.

The boys wrestling team finished 4th out of 50 schools in the Div. III district wrestling tournament at Rossford. Woodmore had one district champion, Bailey Jendrzejak at 215 pounds, and one 4th-place finisher, Landon Rich at 175 pounds. Both are state qualifiers.

After the first day of the Div. III district boys wrestling tournament at Rossford, the Wildcats still have all 11 wrestlers alive and are fourth in the team standings. Bailey Jendrzejak at 215 is the only wrestler without a loss. The top 4 finishers qualify for the state meet.

The varsity boys wrestling team captured the Div. III sectional title as they had 11 district qualifiers, six sectional runners-up, and two sectional champs - Lucas Caldwell at 144 and Bailey Jendrzejak at 215. The district meet is next week at Rossford. Congratulations.

The varsity girls wrestling team placed third at the sectional meet with 143 points and has seven wrestlers advancing to Findlay for the district meet next Sunday. Tinley Thieroff won the 105-pound weight class and Vida Guillen (115) and Hope Scherger (140) place second.

The boys varsity basketball team lost its Div. VI district quarterfinal game at Maumee Valley Country Day School, 76-46. Carson Slates was the only Wildcat player in double figures scoring 20 points.

🥳 SURPRISE!! Our very own Mr. Ryan Avers was honored at a surprise assembly this morning as an FFA Golden Owl Honoree, officially placing him in the TOP 10 agricultural educators in the state of Ohio!

The gym was full this morning with students, colleagues, family, local news, and representatives of the FFA Golden Owl Award all here to celebrate him. He is now in the running for the Ohio Agricultural Educator of the Year grand prize!
