Woodmore 6th graders are currently reading The Hunger Games in English and yesterday they ran their own mock reaping event. Students were asked to dress in their “nicest wear” just as the characters in the book do in case they are headed to The Capitol. The student tributes that were chosen will serve as representatives of the tributes in the book to help us keep track of which district tributes have been eliminated and which are still in the running as the book continues. It is a great way to help students connect, elicit excitement, and keep track of the many characters we’re introduced to in this story!
