
Sophomore swimmer Emily Lang placed fifth in her heat of the 200-yard freestyle in the Div. II district meet at BGSU with a time of 2:11.75. Congratulations, Emily, on being a district qualifier. She will swim later today in the 100-yard backstroke.

The girls varsity basketball team earned a 29-19 win at home over Hopewell-Loudon. Cameran Quisno led the way with 11 points. The JV team was a 29-7 winner in a two-quarter game. Izzy Helmke led the Wildcats with nine points.

On SRO Appreciation Day we want to thank our Woodmore High School School Resource Officer. SRO Psota is a member of the Elmore PD and is in his first year as our SRO. We are thankful to have SRO's in our school and we are thankful for SRO Psota. Thanks SRO Psota for all that you do!



Woodmore High School recognizes a Senior of the Month and a Student of the Month at the monthly Board of Education Meeting. At the February BOE meeting we will recognize our January and February winners. Our January winners were Emma Hammer (12) and Michael Seeger (10). Our February winners are Madi Hammer (12) and Keegan Strong (9). Congratulations to these four very deserving students!

The girls JV basketball team lost a close 29-25 decision at home to Genoa. Emma Hahn scored six points while Lilian Runion and Keira Travis both contributed five points.

Sophomore Emily Lang qualified for the district Div. II swimming meet at BGSU Friday morning in both the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke. She will swim in the 200 free at 10:15 on Friday and come back at 12:30 in the 100 back.

The HS boys wrestling team had five placers in the Rossford Invite and finished 11th as a team - Jack Caldwell (175) and Michael Seeger (190) placed third, Landon Rich (165) was fifth, and Wyatt Thieroff (106) and Brant Deal (150) placed sixth.

The HS girls wrestling team have four placers in the Rossford invite. Satori Alter was 2nd at 155 pounds (4-1 record). Addison Overmyer was 3rd at 120 pounds (3-1 ). Mallory Meggitt and Caydie Buchanan were both fourth, at 115 pounds and 135 pounds, respectively (2-2).

The high school girls basketball teams split home games with Gibsonburg - the varsity lost, 48-26, as Kelsey Kaylor scored eight points; the JV team won, 35-28, as Izzy Helmke scored 11 points and Anastasia Pietrowski added 10 points.

The high school boys basketbal teams lost games at home to Gibsonburg. The varsity lost, 71-50, as Luke Morris scored 20 points and Brady Thatcher added 18. The JV team lost, 49-21, as Brandon Kayser, Ryan Maynard, and Camdyn Schwartz all scored five points.

The girls varsity basketball team lost a 60-20 dcision at home to Danbury. Kara Schneider scored seven points. The JV team lost a 33-22 decision as Lilian Runion scored eight points.

The boys varsity basketball team earned a 74-69 win at Danbury as Brady Thatcher scored 33 points and Luke Morris added 15 points. Woodmore scored 13 of the games last 20 points. The JV team lost, 52-22, as Ryan Maynard scored eight points.

This week is National School Counseling Week. School Counselors are integral to the success of any building. School Counselors are highly educated and highly qualified individuals that focus on student academic success, student social-emotional health, and student college and career planning. The varsity boys basketball team lost a 61-39 decision at home to Calvert. Brady Thatcher led Woodmore with 12 points whille Brody Ish and Luke Morris both scored nine points. The game was tied at halftime 22-all.

The boys freshman basketbal team lost a 21-17, two-quarter decision at home to Calvert. Freshman Mason Busdiecker scored seven points. The JV team lost a 54-12 game as sophomore Camdyn Schwartz scored six points.

Our high school students had a pep rally today to get ready for the Winter Royalty festivities tonight!
First, the Winter Court played a game to see who could guess the next line in popular songs - Senior Camden Knepper emerged victorious! Next, they finished off the schoolwide Rock, Paper, Scissors battle, where Sophomore Kelsey Kaylor beat out literally everyone! Lastly, as always, we had to finish with the class cheer - Juniors were the winners today! We can't wait to see everyone tonight! Go Wildcats! 💙💛
